The effectiveness of NOW Alpha Lipoic Acid is based on ALA's unique ability to influence metabolism. Since in its natural state ALA is found in mitochondria - the parts of the cell that determine how well the cell copes with its metabolic duties, ALA determines whether the cell is functioning at a higher or lower "rate". The higher energy level allows the cell to absorb more nutrients, remove waste, and replace damaged parts. When cell metabolism is low, as it does with age, it lacks energy to perform vital functions. With age, metabolism slows down in cells, and therefore energy production decreases, and the less energy, the less the body's ability to repair damaged areas.
The composition of the antioxidant Alpha Lipoic Acid per serving (1 capsule):
- Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) - 250 mg
- Vitamin E (as d-alpha-tocopherol succinate) 30 IU
- Alpha Lipoic Acid 100 mg
Other Ingredients: Rice flour, cellulose (capsules), magnesium stearate (vegetable source) and silicon dioxide. Non-GMO Soy Vitamin E.
How to take: Take 1 capsule 1 to 2 times daily. Store in a cool dry place after opening.
