Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is a vitamin-like compound that plays a central role in cellular energy production. CoQ10 is found in all organs, but it is especially abundant in the heart, liver and kidneys. It was found that its production decreases with age. CoQ10 works together with vitamin E as an effective free radical scavenger in cell membranes as well as in blood vessels.
